Adult male Fmr1 KO and WT littermates were used. Motor activity and habituation were estimated as well as recognition and spatial memory with NORT and NOLT. NMDA and AMPA subunits protein expression were evaluated in the prefrontal cortex (PFC) and Hippocampus (HIPP) using Western blot analyses. In parallel, glutamate (Glu), glutamine (GLN) and γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) tissue levels were estimated in the above-mentioned brain regions using HPLC- ED.
